About the destination: Kingston upon Hull, generally known at Hull, is a maritime city on the banks of the River Humber and where the River Hull that splits the city in half , meets the Humber. There is a new visitor centre with interactive exhibits which illustrates the history of the abbey and the lives of the monks. The abbey grounds are a public park, and are used for occasional events such as the annual Kirkstall Festival and the Kirkstall Fantasia open-air concerts.
